Passing life’s tests…

In the state of Georgia, grades 3 through high school take an end of the grade assessment, called The Georgia Milestones Assessment System. This test is designed to provide information about how well students are mastering the state-adopted content standards in the core content areas of English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Once tested, there are four categories that students are classified in: (either)

  • Beginning Learners..Students do not yet demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level and content area of learning..
  • Developing Learners..Students demonstrates partial proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level and content area of learning..
  • Proficient Learners..Students demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level and content area of learning..
  • Distinguished Learners..students demonstrate advanced proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level and content area of learning..
Beloved, just as our children are tested in school, so we are tested by God. God’s instructions are forever before us, and He reviews and tests the concourses and interactions of our everyday lives. God has expectations of EVERY born again believer’s life and He desires them to be on display EVERYDAY. In the home, we’re tested, In the workplace, we’re tested, In the drive-thru, we’re tested, At check out, we’re tested, In the supermarket, O yes, we’re tested. Late at night, we’re tested, Early in the morning, we’re tested. In the presence of people, we’re tested, By ourselves, we’re tested…
Someone may ask, well how are we tested?
Well, just like students are tested in the content areas of English Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies, God tests us in the content areas of our everyday lives, such as: faith and faithfulness, love of ourselves and others, attitude, demeanor, how well we get along with others, compassion, patience, temperament, gentleness, and self-control, joy, kindness, goodness, generosity, and the like…
God wants all of us to know what His life expectations are, therefore, He’s left us a biblical curriculum, written in a multiplicity of different languages and translations so that we all could know and understand…
Although we’re in a very dark place, from a worldly standpoint, God has placed His light, the light of Jesus, in the heart of every born again believer. Some of us realize it and some of us don’t. Some of us know our expectations, and some don’t. This message isn’t to condemn or criticize anyone, it’s a self check for me first of all, because I’m writing and reading it, and it’s also for whoever is reading it.
Go ahead and be honest with yourself, and examine your personal content areas. Where do you stand with God? What areas do you need God to really work on and in?

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things…Galatians 5:22-23
